Biography
Yoosun Ham is a Ph.D. candidate in the Media School at Indiana University. Her research focuses on international public relations, public diplomacy, government communication, public psychology and perception, attitude change, and strategic communication aimed at fostering long-term relationships between foreign publics and host-country citizens and governments.
She served as instructor of record for PR Planning and Research (MSCH-R348), guiding students through projects with local corporations and organizations to identify communication challenges and propose strategic PR solutions. In addition, she taught Media (MSCH-C101) as an associate instructor, leading weekly discussions and review sessions. She also gained experience as a graduate assistant for Principles of Public Relations (MSCH-C208), Introduction to Media Psychology (MSCH-C213), and Introduction to Media Industry and Management (MSCH-C207).
She received her M.A. in Communication from the Ewha Woman’s University, Seoul, South Korea, and her B.A. in Communication from SUNY at Buffalo. She participated in various government media development projects to establish national branding and strengthen diplomacy. She also worked in public relations as part of an Integrated Marketing Communication team, where she managed accounts in the resort, automobile, and state-owned sectors, and developed strategic communication plans aimed at preventing crises and fostering long-term relationships with customers.
