Lin co-edits book on Taiwanese film studies

Doctoral candidate Carol Chih-Ju Lin co-edited “Film Studies in Taiwan: A Cross-Generational Dialogue,” a book that compiles 12 academic papers showcasing diversity across Taiwanese films over the past decades. The book covers four themes: cross-cultural and multilingual practices, materiality and environment, the aesthetics and politics of the author, and experimentation and film festivals.
Her contribution to the new publication adds to her work in cultural and political manifestations in Chinese-language cinemas and film industries. Lin is working on her dissertation titled “Film as Infrastructure: China’s World Visions and the Emergence of the Afro-Eurasian Media Network.”
The book was published on Sept. 9.
